Theatrical Bellydance Conference | New York City

Donate to Theatrical Bellydance!
We wish to bring people together, to allow diverse artists to find common ground and interests. This is an environment where dancers of all bellydance styles can work together in classes, learn together and learn from each other. The instructors, who come from a variety of bellydance genres and backgrounds of experience, will be offering workshops that will have something for everyone; not just focused on genre-specific bellydance technique, but more on universals that everyone can feel a part of, and that you can apply to your own work.

OUR RECOMMENDATIONS

La Guardia is mostly for national and Canadian flights.
JFK and Newark have international flights.

Transportation to Manhattan from…

LGA is around $25US + tip by cab OR bus M60 and subway. The cab ride from midtown will be about 15-25 minutes.

JFK is around $50US + tip by cab OR air train to subway from JFK is cheap and convenient IF you don’t have heavy bags. However, there are escalators from the E train to the air train. The express train E and trains J, Z to Sutphin Bvd Or local A train to Howard beach + air train are the cheapest options (around $8-9 total: $5 or 6 for the air train and $2.5 for the subway). Count 1 hour and 15 minutes with public transportation from upper Manhattan and about 1 hour from midtown or lower Manhattan with the E, J, Z. Be careful, with the A train, the same ride will take 2 hours! A cab ride can take from 30 minutes to 2 hours if you have heavy traffic!

EWR is around $75US + tip by cab OR take air train + train (NJ Transit or LIRR) to Penn Station or Port Authority. Count 1 hour from midtown with the public transportation and about 45-50 minutes by cab, when the traffic is ok.

Remember to take only the Yellow Cabs (do the line!) OR Super Shuttle vans (shared cab that will be cheaper than the cab: $10-20 per hear to get to Manhattan but it will make a lot of stops and take more time to get you to your hotel). Do not accept a ride from other drivers.
